How Venta works
What happens to your conversations, what answers them, and what Venta can and cannot reach. No jargon, and nothing here that is not actually true today.
Where your conversations live
They are saved to your account, so they follow you between your phone, your computer and the web. The messages are encrypted with a key belonging to your account. You can rename or delete any conversation, and deleting it removes it. Venta does not offer a mode where nothing is written down, and it would be easy and untrue to say otherwise.
The AI that answers you
Venta works the moment you open it, with no key and no setup. That included AI is GPT-OSS, an open-weights model from OpenAI, run on Groq’s service. It is not a model Venta built.
You can connect your own account instead — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Groq, Cerebras or any compatible endpoint. Your key is held for your browser session and sent only with the requests you make, Venta does not store it on its servers, and that provider bills you directly under their terms.
What Venta can reach, and when
Nothing, until you connect it. Files you put in Venta’s cloud, apps and accounts you link, and a computer you have switched on for it. Each of those is off until you turn it on, and turning it off stops it.
On a computer you have allowed, Venta can read one folder you choose and run what you ask for, inside that folder. It cannot wander the rest of the machine.
What it keeps a record of
Requests against your account, so limits and billing work: when a request happened and roughly how large it was. A record is kept against the network address even when nobody is signed in, because that is what makes rate limiting possible at all.
Venta trains on your requests only if you switch that on in Settings, where it is off by default. When you use your own AI account, that provider’s policies apply to whatever you send through it, and Venta cannot change them.
What Venta does not claim
It is not end-to-end encrypted: Venta can read your conversation in order to answer it. It holds no security certification. It runs on other companies’ services for hosting, storage and the AI itself, and each of those holds data under its own terms. More on how your data is handled.
