Talk to Venta

Venta listens, answers out loud, then listens again. Phones and computers each allow different things, so here is exactly what works on yours.

Start talking

In any browser

Chrome, Edge and Safari, on a computer or a phone.

Open chat and press the voice button next to the microphone. Speak normally; when you stop, Venta answers aloud and then listens for your next sentence. Tap the mark to interrupt, pause or resume. The screen stays awake while you talk.

Windows: say “Hey Venta”

The desktop app listens from the tray. No window needs to be open.

  1. 1Install Venta for Windows and sign in.
  2. 2Right-click the Venta icon near the clock and tick Listen for “Hey Venta”.
  3. 3Say “Hey Venta, …” followed by what you need. Venta opens the chat, does it, and reads the answer back.

A small “Venta is listening” pill sits in the corner of your screen whenever the microphone is on, with a button to stop. It is off until you turn it on.

iPhone: “Hey Siri, Ask Venta”

While an iPhone is locked, only Siri is allowed to listen. So Venta rides on Siri.

  1. 1In Safari, open venta.tools, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
  2. 2Open the Shortcuts app, tap +, and name the shortcut Ask Venta.
  3. 3Add the action Dictate Text.
  4. 4Add URL Encode. It picks up the dictated text on its own.
  5. 5Add Open URLs. Paste this address, then tap the end of it and insert the URL Encoded Text variable.https://www.venta.tools/os?voice=1&q=
  6. 6Say “Hey Siri, Ask Venta.” Siri listens for your question, your phone unlocks with a glance, and Venta opens with the question ready. Tap once and it answers aloud.

Make it faster

  • Action Button: Settings, Action Button, Shortcut, Ask Venta.
  • Back Tap: Settings, Accessibility, Touch, Back Tap, Double Tap, Ask Venta.
  • Lock Screen: hold the Lock Screen, Customise, replace a corner control with the shortcut (iOS 18 and later).
  • AirPods and CarPlay: it is a Siri phrase, so it works there too.

Prefer to skip dictation? Make a shortcut with only Open URLs and this address, and name it Talk to Venta.

Android

One tap from your home screen, or “Hey Google, open Venta”.

  1. 1In Chrome, open venta.tools, tap the menu, then Install app.
  2. 2Press and hold the Venta icon and choose Talk to Venta. Drag it onto your home screen to keep it as its own one-tap voice button.
  3. 3Hands busy? “Hey Google, open Venta” opens the app; tap the voice button and talk.

What a phone will not allow

No website or home-screen app can listen for its own wake word while a phone is locked. Apple and Google keep that for Siri and Google Assistant. That is why the phone routes above go through them, and why the always-listening “Hey Venta” lives in the Windows app. If Venta ships native phone apps, this page will change.
