What Venta does with your data and your devices, in one place. Each answer is checked against the product and links to the page with the full detail.

Data handling

Venta encrypts your messages in transit and at rest, and trains on nothing you type unless you switch that on in Settings, where it is off by default. It is not end-to-end encrypted: Venta's servers read a conversation in order to answer it. When you connect your own provider account, that provider's policies apply to what you send through it.

Your API keys

It stays in the browser you entered it in: in the open tab's session storage, and as ciphertext in local storage that only an encryption key in your browser's own database can unwrap, one that cannot be exported, so it is still there after you close the tab. It travels with each request that needs it, and Venta's server passes it to your provider without writing it to Venta's database. The only key Venta stores is one you choose for background work, encrypted, until you remove it.

Encryption

Messages are encrypted in transit and at rest, and the chats you keep are encrypted with a key that belongs to your account. Venta is not end-to-end encrypted: its servers read a conversation in order to answer it.

Approvals

You set a ceiling for what Venta may do on its own, and lower ceilings for particular tools. Purchases and deletions ask first unless you have allowed that kind of action, and a yes you give lapses on its own. Each command it runs is shown in the conversation as it happens.

When a task reaches a risky step, such as sending, deleting, paying or publishing, it pauses and asks you, and nothing goes ahead until you answer.

Retention

  • The chats you keep are stored until you delete them.
  • A key you choose for background work is stored encrypted until you remove it.
  • Event logs are kept while your account exists, and deleted with it.
  • Figures from connected accounts are read when shown and never cached in Venta's database.
  • Your memory can be downloaded in full, and switched off for any project.

Device permissions

Venta reaches a computer only while its app is running, only in the folders you point it at, and inside the ceiling you set. Purchases and deletions ask first, and every command it runs is shown in the conversation.

Every linked device is listed under Settings, then Devices, and revoking one stops it immediately.

Training

Venta trains on nothing you type unless you switch that on in Settings, where it is off by default. Your API keys and the replies your AI provider wrote are never used for training.

Other companies involved

Your prompts go to the AI that answers them: Venta's included models, which run on Anthropic's or Groq's service, or a provider whose account you connected, under that provider's own terms. Accounts you link, such as a mailbox or Home Assistant, are read or written to only when you ask.

What Venta does not claim

  • It is not end-to-end encrypted.
  • It holds no security certification.
  • It does not sell your data or your keys.

Questions people ask first

Does Venta train on my data?
Not unless you switch that on in Settings, where it is off by default.
Where does my API key go?
It stays in the browser you entered it in: in the open tab's session storage, and as ciphertext in local storage that only an encryption key in your browser's own database can unwrap, one that cannot be exported, so it is still there after you close the tab. It travels with each request that needs it, and Venta's server passes it to your provider without writing it to Venta's database. The only key Venta stores is one you choose for background work, encrypted, until you remove it.
How do I delete my data?
Delete chats from Chats, and revoke devices under Settings, then Devices. To delete your account and the data that belongs to it, write to support@venta.tools.
