An AI that does things on your computer, with your approval.
Venta is an AI assistant that can act on a computer you link: it runs the commands you approve, reads the files you point it at, and shows each step in the conversation. It does not take over your mouse and keyboard; it works through commands and files.
What “controls your computer” means here
There are two ways an AI can work a computer. One moves the pointer and types, the way a person at a remote desktop would. The other uses the computer's own commands and files directly. Venta does the second, and every step it takes is written down in the conversation where you can read it.
Things it can do
- Find, open, move and organize files in the folders you point it at.
- Run the commands you approve and show you the result.
- Check disk space, running programs and network settings, and explain what it finds.
- Copy or zip a folder and tell you where it put the result.
- Read a log file and point out the lines that matter.
- List the devices on your Wi-Fi.
- Install or update an app with the package manager the computer already has, once you approve the command.
- Listen for “Hey Venta” on Windows, once you turn that on.
How it reaches your computer
Venta runs in your browser. To work on a computer, you link it once: a desktop app on Windows, or a one-file agent on macOS and Linux. After that Venta can read files there and run commands — only the ones you ask about, and only while the app is running.
What it asks before doing
You set a ceiling for what Venta may do on its own, and lower ceilings for particular tools. Purchases and deletions ask first unless you have allowed that kind of action, and a yes you give lapses on its own. Each command it runs is shown in the conversation as it happens.
A worked example
You ask: “Free up some space on my laptop.” Venta runs the commands that list the largest folders and shows you the result — say, an old Downloads folder and a pile of installers. It suggests what could go and waits. You say yes to the installers; it deletes those, shows the command it ran, and tells you how much space came back.
What it does not do
- It does not move your mouse or type on your keyboard.
- It does not read folders you did not link or ask about.
- It has no standing access: disconnect the computer and that stops at once.
- It does not keep working on a computer that is switched off; the task waits.
What it costs
Free to try with 10 messages a month and no card. Paid plans start at $9 a month and include an AI allowance; connecting your own provider account does not use it.
Questions people ask first
- Can an AI control my computer?
- It can act on your computer if you install something that lets it. With Venta, that is the Windows app or the one-file agent; after that it runs commands and reads files there with your approval. It does not use the mouse or keyboard.
- Can it click buttons in an app for me?
- No. Venta works through commands and files, not by clicking. If a task can only be done by clicking through a program's window, a remote-desktop tool is the right choice.
- Is it safe to let an AI run commands on my computer?
- Venta reaches a computer only while its app is running, only in the folders you point it at, and inside the ceiling you set. Purchases and deletions ask first, and every command it runs is shown in the conversation.
- Does it work on Mac, Windows and Linux?
- The browser side works anywhere, phones included. To work on a computer itself, Windows has a desktop app and macOS and Linux have a one-file agent.
- Does work continue when I close the tab?
- A task keeps its place when you close the tab. Venta's worker picks it up on its next run — today that can be up to a day — and a task that needs your own computer waits for that computer to be online.
